With an extensive career spanning over 25 years in the legal, regulatory, and governance sectors in the Cayman Islands, Sabrina Foster is a trusted advisor to local businesses and organisations.

Sabrina has expertise in a range of legal topics, including general corporate and commercial matters, alternative investment funds, commercial and private trust structuring, financing, conveyancing, regulatory and governance matters, and legal document preparation.

During her career, Sabrina has served as a partner with the global law firm, Appleby, and as an associate with Walkers. Sabrina also served as a professional independent director with the governance teams of Maples Fiduciary and Intertrust, working on a diverse portfolio of alternative investment funds and related structures.

Sabrina holds a Postgraduate Award in Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Liverpool. She completed her Professional Practitioner’s Course (Cayman Islands) with Queen’s University Belfast and earned the Accredited Director designation from the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. She was admitted as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands in 1997. She has been recognised by Legal 500 Caribbean for her corporate and commercial work and by PLC Which Lawyer? as a lawyer of choice for private clients.

Sabrina is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association, the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, 100 Women in Finance, the Cayman Islands Directors Association and the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. Sabrina is a Registered Director under the Directors Registration and Licensing Act (as amended) of the Cayman Islands. She is also a Notary Public in and for the Cayman Islands and has published several articles relating to financial services.

Sabrina Foster is an experienced professional independent director and is based in the Cayman Islands. 

She is also the founder and principal of Fifty Eleven Consulting Limited, a legal, regulatory and governance consulting firm. Sabrina has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having practiced law for more than 19 years and served as an independent director since 2013.

During her legal career, Sabrina served as a Partner in the Funds and Investment Services Team with the global law firm, Appleby, where her key practice areas included hedge fund and private equity structuring and formation, commercial and private trust structuring, as well as advising on general corporate matters, corporate governance, financing, and regulatory matters relevant to both regulated and non-regulated investment funds operating in multiple jurisdictions. Sabrina also served as a director and shareholder of Paget-Brown, Attorneys-at-Law and as an associate at Walkers in the Cayman Islands.   

During her fiduciary career, Sabrina served as a professional independent director with the large governance teams of Intertrust and Maples, where she served on a wide range of alternative investment funds including hedge funds, fund of funds, segregated portfolio companies, private equity vehicles, hybrid structures, fund management companies and related alternative investment structures.

Sabrina is currently serving a two-year term as a non-executive director of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) Mrs. Sabrina Foster, (cima.ky), the primary regulator responsible for the regulation and supervision of financial services entities operating in and from the Cayman Islands.  She is a member of the Risk Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee of CIMA.

She is also serving as an independent director and chairperson of the audit committee of Patria Investments Limited, a foreign private issuer listed on NASAQ Sabrina Bridgett Foster | Board Member | Patria Investments Limited.

Sabrina is also serving a three-year term as a member of the Civil Service Appeals Commission, https://www.civilserviceappealscommission.ky/mrs-sabrina-foster  a quasi-judicial independent body established to consider, and decide upon appeals from civil servants regarding personnel related decisions.
