Sabrina

Meet Sabrina

Sabrina Foster is the founder and principal of Fifty Eleven Consulting Limited and a trusted Cayman legal adviser to businesses, organisations and families. With more than 28 years of experience in the legal, regulatory and governance sectors, she advises on corporate and commercial matters, regulatory and governance issues, and private client matters, including wills, trusts and estate planning. Through Fifty Eleven, Sabrina serves a number of organisations as a trusted external adviser and outsourced general counsel.

During her career, Sabrina served as a Partner in the Funds and Investment Services team at the global law firm Appleby and previously practised with Walkers and Paget-Brown, Attorneys-at-Law, in the Cayman Islands. During this time she advised on hedge fund and private equity structuring, trust arrangements, corporate governance, financing and regulatory matters affecting investment structures established in the Cayman Islands for international investors.

Sabrina has also served as a professional independent director since 2013, including with the governance teams of Maples Fiduciary and Intertrust (now CSC), where she gained extensive board and governance experience across a wide range of alternative investment structures. She currently serves as an independent director to a limited number of hedge funds and private equity funds and sits on the board of a publicly listed asset manager, where she chairs the Audit Committee.

Sabrina holds a Postgraduate Award in Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Liverpool. She completed her Professional Practitioner's Course (Cayman Islands) with Queen's University Belfast and earned the Accredited Director designation from the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. She was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands in 1997.

Sabrina has been recognised by Legal 500 Caribbean for her corporate and commercial work and by PLC Which Lawyer? as a lawyer of choice for private clients. She is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association, the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association, 100 Women in Finance, the Cayman Islands Directors Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada. She is also registered as a Director under the Directors Registration and Licensing Act (as amended) of the Cayman Islands and serves as a Notary Public in and for the Cayman Islands.
